AutoCAD LT 2012: online trial is available

This is probably a bit late. You may already aware that some Autodesk products now Citrix ready. And Autodesk also develop Project Twitch that allows you to have a product trial without having to actually install the product. I found this quite interesting. Today, you need to install several GB of installer to your hard drive. If you can’t get the trial DVD from a reseller, it’s worse. You need to download the installer. If you don’t have a good internet connection, it will be very annoying.

At the moment, only AutoCAD LT that looks ready. If you go to Amazon.com, you can try the product online.

Go to AutoCAD LT 2012 product page here.

Scroll down the product page until you can see special offers and product promotions. You can access the online trial there.

If you read the Project Twitch description, I believe we can expect to have more online products trial in the future.

Unfortunately, the online trial seems to be limited by geographic location. If your location is allowed to access the trial, go ahead, give it a try!

Project Twitch and the online AutoCAD LT trial use different underlying technologies. So geographic limitations for one may not necessarily apply to the other.

Thank you for the clarification Scott. I hope we can try more products online soon… in my region! :)
