Add Room Location Information with Dynamo in Revit

August 4, 2020 by Edwin Prakoso 1 Comment

We can calculate the number of elements in Revit by using a schedule. The example here is a furniture schedule. We can group the furniture based on the levels, family types, and other parameters. However, we don’t have a parameter showing in which room the furniture is placed.

So I can’t report how much furniture I have in my conference room, meeting room, or in a ballroom.

This video shows how you can use Dynamo to solve this issue.

You can also download the finished script here: Elements In Room.

How to: Selectively Select Objects in Revit

Revit model usually is not as complicated as an AutoCAD drawing. You can select objects easier before you modify it. However, in a complex model, you need a method to select multiple objects faster. You want to select them based on specific properties. For example, you want to select all walls with a specific type. Or you want to select all walls with a specific function.
We cover different methods in this article that you can use.
