AutoCAD tip: renumber text automatically

October 26, 2011 by Edwin Prakoso 7 Comments

I always use AutoCAD table when I need to create table. However, I had this question. He already make the drawing in old version of AutoCAD and don’t want to recreate the table with AutoCAD table. He wants to use TCOUNT but never managed to make it work.

So I made this video, and hopefully can help. You probably need it too.

You can renumber text along X axis, Y axis, or by selection order. This tool also allow you to set first number and the increment.

Using TCOUNT to automatically renumber text

We can also use TCOUNT for other renumbering purpose, like tread/riser numbering (very popular request in my country).

Have you used TCOUNT before? What for?

TCOUNT is a part of Express Tools. You need to install Express Tools before you can use it.

Hi Anna,

TCOUNT is an express tool. It looks like you don't have it installed on your computer.
On AutoCAD 2012 it should be installed by default. Not available on AutoCAD LT. And not installed by default on AutoCAD verticals (like AutoCAD Architecture, AutoCAD Mechanical, etc)

Can you use TCOUNT for incremental numbering with decimals, not integers.  Say I want to start at 0.00 and increment by 0.24 each. Is there a lisp for this?
