Autodesk Docs Users Now Can Use the Mobile App

May 27, 2022 by Edwin Prakoso Leave a Comment

Autodesk Docs is the base platform in Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC). If you’re not familiar with ACC yet, it is Autodesk’s Common Data Environment (CDE) solution. Even though ACC offers a better unified platform than its predecessor (BIM 360), many users still have difficulties because ACC didn’t have a mobile app.

The only ACC product with access to a mobile app is Autodesk Build. It is logical since site engineers can easily access information without bringing a laptop. However, not only site engineers need to access project information on a mobile device, primarily if they often work outside of the office.

This May 2022, Autodesk opens the access for ACC licenses to Plangrid Build Field App for Android and Plangrid Build Field App for iOS. Now Autodesk Docs, BIM Collaborate, and BIM Collaborate Pro users can use the Plangrid mobile app.

The paragraph below is from what’s new for ACC:

Files | Extended Mobile App to Autodesk Docs and Autodesk BIM Collaborate – PlanGrid Build mobile app is now available to Autodesk Docs, BIM Collaborate, and BIM Collaborate Pro paid and trial users. These users can access Files, Folders, Markups (Files), Member list and Issues list. Only BIM Collaborate and Pro members can access Meeting Minutes.

This is good news. Allowing ACC users to access the mobile device helps all team members access project documents and issues from anywhere. It also can encourage the migration of users who are still using BIM 360 to the new platform.
